Starbucks ready-to-drink designs

Graphic Designer

While designing for Starbucks, I created illustrations and graphics for beverages in third-party retail for various markets across the globe. I strategized packaging and design solutions for market specific products to differentiate from competing brands and resonate with audiences in different cultures.

Starbucks Discoveries non sweet flavored latte is now available all over Japan. For each Discoveries product in Japan, the brand focuses on a city to represent the different flavors. I created multiple illustration iterations to make sure the cityscape was at the appropriate angle with the limited printing colors available. I also worked with our printer in Japan to find the right foil treatment to make this cup pop on the shelf amidst an array of brightly colored competing brands.

starbucks iced coffee
graphic & package design

Available in the U.S., this new product is the mother version of all iced coffee, coming in at 48 ounces of liquid. This project included press checks, customization illustration (over 200 options for the illustrated milk container on the back), hierarchy, and type studies.

Working within the Starbucks Holiday branding, it was important to make the two flavors stand apart from each other while still being seen as a Holiday set. I illustrated the designs and created color studies within the Frappuccino ecosystem. These drinks appeared on shelves as well as bins, so it was important to have Starbucks branding visible from all angles. The siren logo was added to the top sides to solve that branding problem in case the customer was viewing the products from above instead of at eye level.
